What Detailing Actually Costs in Charlotte
Detailing is priced in hours, not in menu items. Anyone quoting a firm price without asking about condition is guessing, and the guess gets corrected on the day.
The four things that set the price
- Vehicle size — a three-row SUV is roughly twice the interior volume of a sedan
- Condition — the gap between a maintained car and a neglected one can be six hours
- Scope — wash and vacuum, full detail, correction, and coating are different orders of magnitude
- Access and location — deck restrictions, water limits and travel distance affect setup time
Why we quote after seeing photos
Two identical SUVs can be a three-hour job and a nine-hour job. Heavy pet hair, ground-in clay, sun-baked contamination or a musty smell each add real hours. Sending three or four photos gets you a number that holds.
A quote that changes on arrival is a bad experience for both sides. We would rather spend two minutes looking at photos than surprise you in your driveway.

Where spending more pays back
Protection is the best value in detailing. A coating applied to a newer vehicle costs more upfront but eliminates repeated correction, reduces wash effort for years and holds resale condition.
The worst value is repeated cheap washes that swirl the paint, followed by correction to fix the damage they caused.
